News from the General Manager
October has come round all too quickly! There is so much going on at the Club, time is just flying by.
Over 40 people attended the Health Awareness Evening which concentrated on hand, wrist and knee problems relating to golf injuries. Consultant orthopaedic surgeons Mr Mark Dunbar and Mr G Shyamalan, from Little Aston Hospital along with Dr Richard Walsh from Westgate Practice in Lichfield, enlightened us about joint problems commonly encountered by golfers. Judging by the lengthy, and often humorous Q and A at the end, the audience found it both informative and entertaining.
Make sure you don’t miss out – We have a Michael Buble tribute night on 26th October, a shopping trip to York on 21st November and lots of Christmas parties throughout December (not forgetting our New Years Eve celebration).
In addition to all this we are, once again, hosting our annual Lakeside Bonfire and Firework display on Saturday 2nd November. Gates open at 5.15pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and the fantastic firework display starts at 7.30pm. Tickets remain the same as last year at £7 per adult, £5 per child and you can even buy a family ticket for £20 (adults and 2 children).
You can buy your tickets at the Club or online on our website but be aware this event is ticket only and tickets are limited – once they have gone you won’t be able to just turn up on the night.
The quiz held at the beginning of the month was another great night and thank you for everyone who turned up in such horrible weather. This month there was only ½ point between first and second place – congratulations to the Yarboroughs (and to Moo Baa Quack who came in second). The next quiz is on 29th October, if you haven’t been before why not come and join in.
Another successful sing along film night took place at the end of September and a full house meant the atmosphere was excellent for Mamma Mia 2 ‘Here We Go Again’ – watch out for details of our next film night on 28th November.
