Message from the General Manager
Welcome to the summer newsletter. The golf course has recently hosted the Club Championships and in addition to the weather being beautiful, the feedback from players was that the course was looking spot on too which made for some great competition play. For those who don’t enjoy the competitive aspect of golf and simply come to the Club for a relaxing game, either on their day off or to unwind after work, this is a great time of year to play.
The Clubhouse is still bustling with events including the second sing for wellbeing taster session which has just taken place. Our Mamma Mia singalong night was a great success too – the evening started with moussaka to put everyone in the Greek mood and this was followed by lots of loud enthusiastic singing throughout the film enhanced by various party props for everyone to use (including the staff).
My congratulations go to Alison Clayton, Reception Manager, for winning the staff bake off – an event which was judged by staff and members. The event was initiated after a male member of staff suggested he was a better baker – well unfortunately he wasn’t! Well done Alison on her winning chocolate cake.
Our next big event is our 60’s & 70’s disco in aid of the Captains charity, Prostate Cancer UK. This is on Saturday 31st August and even has a 70’s themed buffet! So, whether you have just come back from your summer holidays or are just about to go away why not dig out your flares and platform shoes and enjoy the sounds of disco. Tickets are limited and are available now – speak to reception for details.
If you are going on holiday, I hope you have a fantastic time and look forward to seeing you in the gym or on the course when you get back.
